Story

eBev commenced operations in 2015, initially launching as a product search and ordering tool for venues, and more recently building out Sales Rep and Distributor tools.

In the middle of 2016, eBev closed it’s first capital raise of $1.5m; our shareholders include a range of private angels, a family office and an international professional investor. We have a strong and experienced board with significant domain knowledge in venues, digital, technology and FinTech.

One of the first initiatives upon completion of this capital raise was to bring platform development in-house and our Lead Developer joined the team in July 2016. The tech team has grown with our second developer joining in February last year and we have up-skilled one of our Content Managers who has stepped up to take our Product Coordinator role.

In October 2016, we launched into our second market being Victoria, a significant milestone for the business. We now have multiple Business Development Managers on the road in both Sydney and Melbourne.

Our Experience Team is responsible for making sure everything just works. For those who Make things, those who Sell thing and those who Buy things. We are very lucky to have these folks working remotely from all over the country to make sure we cover all our time zones.

In 2018, we closed a second capital raise with funding provided by existing investors. Upon closing this round, we appointed an experienced CEO with a strong track record in Digital, Marketing and Technology to assist in scaling operations.

2019 was a massive year for us. We added in all beverage categories – beer, spirits, non alc. In the space of 6 months we doubled the number of products and suppliers we had in the marketplace, launched venues in all states of Australia and into New Zealand! Needless to say, we were a little weary at the end of 2019. Most importantly, we are trusted by everyone from the Rockpool Dining Group down to some amazing local and regional independent businesses.

Through 2019 and the first part of 2020 we grew significantly in terms of the value of orders coming through the platform such that we are now processing 9 digits of orders through the platform – yes, that’s 100’s of millions of dollars!

We are focused on building more features for both venues and suppliers as well as growing our community. Activities on the horizon involve launching into new markets, both domestically and internationally, and continuing to expand the product offering including launching a single supplier invoice solution.

Today eBev has more than 1,000 Sales Representatives from across 650 beverage suppliers. With a marketplace of over 65,000 beverage products – the largest in Australia – eBev is providing a one-stop, centralised and mobile responsive platform for Australia’s 38,000 licensed venues to source, purchase and manage their beverage program.
